About
Susan Liesemer founded Heart of the Matter (formerly the New Vision Healing Center) in 2010, in Portland Oregon, for people who want to make positive transformations in their lives.
After many years of chronic pain, Susan launched her own healing journey through massage, Polarity Therapy, Shamanism, Hypnotherapy, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). During her personal explorations she realized the interconnection between the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual self.
This understanding, combined with her profound desire to help others, is the foundation for the integrative healing and change work she does with her clients.
Susan graduated from the Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, DC. She received her Registered Polarity Practitioner certification through the American Polarity Therapy Association, is a Nationally Certified Hypnotherapist by the National Guild of Hypnotists, a Master Practitioner of NLP, and a Certified NLP Health Coach. She has advanced training in many forms of bodywork, including Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, and Reiki. She also received multiple Outstanding Faculty Awards as a Massage Therapy instructor at Anthem College in Beaverton, OR.
